Our coaches are each highly qualified and experienced in the sport of diving as both athletes and coaches. Rubbing shoulders with accomplished teammates and coaches with experience at national and international championships and even the olympics is a unique experience that brings out the best in each diver.
Head Coach and former Olympic qualifier Osvaldo Pito Alberty heads the Atlantic Diving Team. A highly accomplished diver himself, Pito is passing on his knowledge and experience to a new generation of divers.
Pito has been in the diving business since 1996. He has an amazing enthusiasm for diving and spreads that enthusiasm to everyone around him. In 1995, Pito’s Olympic dream came true when he qualify to represent Puerto Rico at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, GA. But unfortunately one week after qualifying for the Olympics, He was diagnose with Guillain-Barré Syndrome(GBS). He said “When the virus first hit me I didn't know what was happening to me. I felt weak, lost my balance, and then all of a sudden my whole body was paralyzed.” He didn't know what was happening to him, but his parents recognized the signs. This is the second time he had been struck down. The first time he was three years old and was able to recover 100%. But the fire and love that he has for the sport of diving will never burn out. Now he pass his knowledge that he has collected from his coaches and all over the world to the new upcoming divers.
